Banana Berry Smoothie: A Quick Healthy Snack On The Go

The banana berry smoothie, is one of the best quick healthy, snacks.

If you’re looking for a simple smoothie that is packed with vitamins and minerals, you’re going to love this recipe.

Bananas, with their unique mix of vitamins and minerals, are favourite fruit among elite athletes. Berries are rich in antioxidants which can help improve your health and fight off illness.

I like to use fresh bananas and usually keep a bag of frozen berries in the freezer because they keep well. You can use a normal blender (I have a trusty old Sunbeam) but word on the trails is that the Nutri Bullet is also a pretty good smoothie maker.

BANANA BERRY SMOOTHIE: INGREDIENTS

1 cup frozen berries
1 banana
1 cup almond milk (or regular milk)
Optional extra: 1/2 cup apple juice
Optional extra: chia seeds

BANANA BERRY SMOOTHIE: METHOD

Cut up the banana
Whack all ingredients into a blender
Blend until smooth
Enjoy while you check your running stats
You can mix it up a little depending on your tastes. If you need a bit more liquid and sweetness add some apple juice. I’ve also added chai seeds and oats to give it bit more fibre.
